LONGi made a strong impression at this year’s Solar & Storage Live, the UK’s largest solar and energy-storage exhibition held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham. From September 23 to 25, the company unveiled its latest high-performance back contact (BC) module series, marking the UK premieres of EcoLife and Hi-MO X10, as well as several new feature modules including the Hi-MO X10 Guardian Light Design. The launches reflect LONGi’s ongoing leadership in photovoltaic innovation and its commitment to offering targeted, high-efficiency solutions for every application - from residential rooftops to commercial and industrial (C&I) systems.
Flagship back contact modules make their UK debut
During the exhibition, LONGi co-hosted a product launch with its long-term partner Solen Energy, drawing strong attention from visitors and installers. The company introduced two main product families now entering the UK market: the EcoLife Series for residential use and Hi-MO X10 Series for commercial and industrial applications.
The EcoLife modules, designed for homeowners, combine a 54-cell dual-glass full-black design with up to 25% conversion efficiency and 505 W power output. They merge elegant aesthetics with high energy yield, perfectly suited for the UK’s design-sensitive residential segment where homeowners seek long-term performance with visual harmony.
For businesses and C&I players, the Hi-MO X10 module represents LONGi’s most advanced BC technology to date. Built on the company’s proprietary HPBC 2.0 (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact) cell platform, it integrates n-type TaiRay wafers, a zero-busbar (0BB) front-contact-free design, and a multi-layer passivation structure to capture more light and minimize electrical loss. The module delivers up to 670 W of power, with 24.8% module efficiency and 26.6% cell efficiency.
With its reinforced mechanical design and a 16% improvement in wafer break resistance, the Hi-MO X10 delivers outstanding durability for commercial rooftops across Northern Europe. The module’s enhanced resistance to shading and hotspot formation ensures consistent energy generation even under variable light conditions, while its temperature coefficient of –0.26%/°C supports stable, high performance throughout the changing weather patterns typical of the UK and Nordic regions.
“The Hi-MO X10 and its HPBC 2.0 technology deliver higher efficiency, lower operating temperatures, and better long-term reliability than conventional modules,” said Will Han, General Manager for UK & Ireland at LONGi Solar. “Its busbar-free design allows more sunlight to reach each cell, which directly translates to higher yields even under the UK’s diffuse-light conditions.”

Hi-MO X10 Guardian Light Design: lightweight innovation for low-load roofs
One of the most anticipated debuts was the Hi-MO X10 Guardian Light Design, a new lightweight version of LONGi’s flagship Hi-MO X10 Guardian series engineered for rooftops with structural or load limitations. Built on the same HPBC 2.0 platform only weighing only 7.2 kg/m², the Guardian Light Design reduces overall module weight by approximately 30% compared to regular single-glass modules while maintaining full mechanical load strength.
This design enables installations on older warehouses, logistics centers, and retail buildings that cannot be reinforced, unlocking new opportunities for commercial and industrial solar projects. Despite its lighter form factor, the module retains the same efficiency, reliability, and 30-year power warranty as the standard Hi-MO X10. Industry-leading 24.8% module efficiency, 140 W more power per module compared to conventional lightweight panels and 33% lower BOS cost per watt boost system output and project profitability.
Scenario-based module matrix for all applications
In addition to the EcoLife and Guardian Light Design modules, LONGi presented its broader scenario-based module lineup, offering solutions tailored to diverse UK market needs:
- Hi-MO X10 Transparent: a high-end aesthetic option with a transparent backsheet suitable for residential roofs, carports, and greenhouses.
- Hi-MO X10 Anti-Glare: reduces reflected light by roughly 78%, minimizing glare impact near airports, roads, or sensitive residential areas.
- Hi-MO 9: designed for utility-scale projects, combining HPBC 2.0 and TaiRay wafer technology to achieve 24.8% efficiency, superior shading tolerance and high energy yields.
This comprehensive portfolio demonstrates LONGi’s “core breakthrough + full-scenario coverage” strategy, ensuring optimized solutions across residential, commercial, and utility applications.

Hands-on training empowers UK installers
LONGi also used the exhibition to strengthen installer engagement through a dedicated Installer Training Hub within the show’s education zone. Over three days, more than 280 installers participated in six rotating sessions combining technical lectures and live installation practice.
The training showcased the practical advantages of LONGi modules, particularly the Hi-MO X10 Guardian Light Design, which drew significant interest for its ease of handling and suitability for low-load rooftops. The initiative supports LONGi’s goal of building a skilled local workforce capable of delivering high-quality PV installations across the UK.

A growing presence in the UK’s clean-energy landscape
LONGi’s ongoing investment in product innovation and local service infrastructure reflects its long-term commitment to the UK market. As the country accelerates its path toward net-zero 2050, distributed solar continues to grow across residential and commercial sectors. Even at the NEC, the venue of this exhibition, the UK’s largest EV-charging hub operates beneath a rooftop fully equipped with LONGi bifacial modules, creating a model for integrated “charging + generation” green infrastructure.
“By understanding the key drivers in both residential and C&I markets, ranging from high electricity prices to policy incentives, LONGi is strengthening its local footprint and supporting customers through advanced technology and partnership,” said Will Han. “Our focus remains on efficiency, reliability, and local collaboration to help drive the UK’s transition to clean energy.”

Hi-MO X10: High-Efficiency modules with TÜV Rheinland AA full-chain traceability certification
The Hi-MO X10 series is supported by LONGi’s supply-chain transparency program, ensuring end-to-end traceability and ESG verification across all production stages. Among several third-party certifications, the series holds TÜV Rheinland’s AA-rated certification for full-chain traceability and is manufactured under ISO 20400-certified sustainable procurement standards. Together, these measures provide verified assurance of responsible sourcing and lifecycle integrity for customers and investors across Europe.
Both the EcoLife and Hi-MO X10 series are now in stable supply across Europe, with UK deliveries already underway. LONGi will continue to focus on technological innovation, local partnerships, and installer education to accelerate solar adoption across the residential, commercial, industrial, and utility segments, bringing high-efficiency back contact technology to every rooftop on the path to a net-zero future.
