nadinebuetow@longi.comLONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (LONGi) was participating in the 30th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, where the company has been presenting its 2024–2025 Climate Action White Paper, its first report aligned with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), and a new cooperation project with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Brazil. Together, these initiatives highlight LONGi’s strengthened commitment to value-chain decarbonisation, biodiversity-related transparency and inclusive access to clean energy.
White Paper outlines progress on emission reduction
At COP30, LONGi is showcasing the findings of its new Climate Action White Paper, which details emission-reduction data for 2024 and sets out the company’s updated decarbonisation pathway. The publication reaffirms LONGi’s long-term goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse-gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050. It also highlights developments in operational energy efficiency, renewable-electricity substitution and product-level carbon-footprint certification. The full release on the report can be viewed here. The Climate Action White Paper is here for download.
TNFD report expands environmental disclosure scope
The company’s TNFD-aligned report represents LONGi’s first dedicated nature-related disclosure. Using the LEAP (Locate, Evaluate, Assess, Prepare) methodology, LONGi integrates biodiversity, ecosystem dependencies, land-use considerations, water use and resource risks into its risk-management and governance framework. The report reflects the increasing expectations from regulators, investors and corporate partners for companies to address nature-related financial risks alongside climate impacts. Partnerships promote energy access and ecosystem protection
During COP30, LONGi was participating in the completion ceremony of a solar-power donation project carried out with UNHCR Brazil, supporting energy access and resilience in vulnerable communities. In parallel, LONGi was presenting progress under its “Protect the Amazon” initiative, which combines solar-technology deployment with ecological conservation efforts in the Amazon region. The “Protect the Amazon” initiative is part of LONGi’s broader commitment to environmental stewardship and community development in one of the world’s most sensitive ecosystems. Through this initiative, LONGi supports ecological conservation efforts in the Amazon region and collaborates with local partners to strengthen sustainable development in Indigenous communities. This includes providing solar power systems, battery storage and connectivity solutions to remote villages, replacing diesel-based energy sources and improving access to education, health services and communication. By contributing renewable-energy technology and technical expertise, LONGi aims to support forest protection, enhance local resilience and help safeguard a critical global biodiversity and carbon-sink region.
LONGi’s role in the energy transition extends beyond emissions reduction
LONGi stated that it will use COP30 as a platform to deepen cooperation with global partners, accelerate renewable-electricity substitution across its operations and expand innovation in solar manufacturing and applications. The company emphasized that its role in the energy transition extends beyond emissions reduction to supporting nature protection, expanding energy access and contributing to global zero-carbon development.
LONGi has attended every UNFCCC Conference of the Parties since COP24 in 2018, representing the photovoltaic sector for seven consecutive years. Over this period, the company has introduced its “Solar for Solar” concept, published multiple editions of the LONGi Climate Action White Paper, established a global partnership with UNHCR and launched initiatives such as the “Zero-Carbon Life Plan for Pandas,” contributing to international discussions on sustainable development.
