It’s been a month since SNEC 2025 concluded in Shanghai, but the impact of LONGi’s major announcements continues to resonate across the global PV industry.
We set a world-record 33% efficiency for our large-area crystalline silicon–perovskite tandem cell, debuted a mass-produced 700 W HIBC module with 25.9% efficiency, and signed a strategic quality partnership with TÜV Rheinland. These milestones reinforce our leadership in efficiency innovation, space-optimized panel design, and industry-grade quality assurance, demonstrating our commitment to shaping the future of high-performance solar technology. As the dust settles, it’s time to look back at those milestones again.
Record-breaking 33% tandem cell validated by NREL
LONGi showcased a two-terminal crystalline silicon–perovskite tandem cell with a large active area of 260.9 cm², achieving a certified 33% conversion efficiency, a global first for this scale. This performance leap, formally included in the Solar Cell Efficiency Tables (v66), represents a nearly 20% efficiency gain over traditional single-junction silicon cells and lays the groundwork for lower-cost ultra-efficient modules. Launch of 700 W HIBC back-contact module with unmatched power density
LONGi unveiled its groundbreaking Hybrid Interdigitated Back-Contact (HIBC) technology and a 700 W module offering 25.9% efficiency within a standard 2382 × 1134 mm format. Independently certified in cell efficiency at 27.81% by Germany’s ISFH, this new module delivers 259 W/m², outperforming larger 700 W modules by 34 W/m²—introducing “power density” as a key industry metric for the first time. Deepened TÜV Rheinland partnership enhances BC quality leadership
LONGi and TÜV Rheinland formalized a strategic partnership to co-develop BC cell and module standards, strengthen reliability research, and bolster mass-production quality control. LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 (HPBC 2.0) BC modules already earned TÜV’s “All Quality Matters” awards in power simulation and reliability, plus “AA-Rated” certification for supply chain traceability. This collaboration sets new benchmarks for BC technology quality assurance throughout the PV industry. SNEC 2025 gathered over 3,100 exhibitors and 500,000 visitors, underscoring its global significance. In this context, we reaffirmed our mission by delivering landmark technological achievements and forging strategic quality partnerships. As Li Zhenguo, Founder and President of LONGi, stated during the SNEC Technology Innovation Session: “LONGi’s innovation genes stem from reverence for technological fundamentals. We focus not only on our own breakthroughs but champion collaborative innovation.”
