LONGi signs strategic agreement with TÜV Rheinland to advance back contact quality and standards

At SNEC 2025 in Shanghai, LONGi signed a strategic cooperation agreement with TÜV Rheinland, a globally recognized independent testing, inspection, and certification organization. The agreement signals the start of a new chapter of high-quality collaboration between the two parties in the solar sector. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Li Weichun, Vice President of TÜV Rheinland’s Global Power Electronics Business Segment and Vice President of Solar & Commercial Products Greater China, and Mr. Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi.

Setting new benchmarks for quality in the PV industry

The partnership will center on several key areas: the development of standards for Back Contact (BC) solar cells and modules, in-depth research on product reliability, and enhanced quality control throughout the module mass production process. Anchored by LONGi’s high-performance HPBC 2.0 technology, the cooperation aims to establish new quality benchmarks for the PV sector and deliver greater long-term commercial value to global markets.

LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 module, based on HPBC 2.0, recently underwent a comprehensive set of rigorous performance evaluations according to TÜV Rheinland’s standards. The module’s outstanding energy yield and durability earned it TÜV Rheinland’s “All Quality Matters” awards for both Power Generation Simulation and Module Reliability.

In addition, TÜV Rheinland certified the exceptional low-light performance of LONGi’s BC modules. Testing showed that the spectral response rate of HPBC 2.0 significantly outperformed mainstream TOPCon products, by as much as 44%, confirming LONGi’s technological edge in real-world energy output.

Strengthening supply chain transparency and lifecycle assurance

During the exhibition, TÜV Rheinland also presented LONGi with the “AA-Rated Certification for PV Supply Chain Traceability Management”. This certification reflects stringent assessment across the entire supply chain, including polysilicon, ingot, wafer, and module stages, where LONGi achieved the highest possible rating.

The certification provides robust assurance for product quality and lifecycle performance and recognizes LONGi’s sustained efforts in full-industry-chain coordination, digital integration, and supply chain capability building.
