The 10th edition of Solární Konference, held on May 26–27 in Prague, brought together the Czech and Slovak solar and storage community for two days of debate on the real issues shaping the market right now. Permitting, grid connection, project economics, flexibility, repowering, safety - the agenda reflected an industry that has moved well past the early adoption phase and is now working through the harder, more structural questions.
Getting PV and BESS integration right from the design stage is crucial and is exactly what our latest Hi-MO ONE Pro is built for
Getting safety and profitability right from the start changes what a project delivers over its lifetime. That was the core of LONGi's contribution to a panel discussion about technology trends in PV and BESS, where Lukáš Čelovský, Sales Manager at LONGi Eastern Europe, joined industry peers to discuss where technology is taking the sector. For hybrid solar and storage applications, this means products engineered to address performance degradation, bankability and operational reliability from day one.
Hi-MO ONE Pro is designed precisely for projects where all three are critical to financing and long-term returns. The conversation ranged from smarter energy management to EV charging infrastructure that works within existing grid constraints rather than demanding costly reinforcement.

Permitting, grid connection and public funding are shaping what gets built and when
Several themes ran through both days of the conference. On the policy side, discussions covered new permitting guidelines for solar and storage projects, updates to grid connection rules, and the role of public funding including the Modernization Fund in supporting the energy transition. The Czech Republic's position was notable. As one of only five EU member states with complete legislation already in place for agrivoltaics, it has a head start on a technology that is attracting growing interest across the region.
Battery storage may be only as valuable as the business model behind it
With a new tariff structure proposed by the Czech Energy Regulatory Office, the conference debate made clear that making storage commercially viable requires more than the right hardware. It demands smart aggregation, optimisation, and contractual frameworks that reflect how the grid actually operates. The direction is set and the work now is in the details.

Czech solar installations are reaching the end of their support periods and the industry is ready for repowering
A significant share of Czech solar installations are approaching the end of their original support periods. The end of a support scheme does not have to mean the end of an asset. The conference addressed how to extend operational life, when and how to repower, and how to handle panel recycling and resale responsibly. For the Czech and Slovak market, repowering is already happening.
For LONGi, Solární konference is an important moment to engage with the Czech and Slovak market
It is where the industry sets its agenda, where policy meets practice, and where the questions that will shape the next few years get aired. Understanding where the market is heading and contributing to the conversations that will shape it is what brings us to Prague every year. The questions being asked here about long-term project performance, system integration, and sustainable business models are the same ones we work on every day.
