The BNEF Tier 1 list is regarded as one of the industry’s most authoritative references for financial institutions and project developers. The classification is based on bankability, requiring that a manufacturer’s own-brand, self-produced modules are deployed in at least six independent projects, each above the minimum size threshold, financed by six different banks on a non-recourse basis.
