Solar innovation meets collaboration: LONGi at GALP Innovation Day 2025

In a rapidly evolving energy landscape, innovation alone isn't enough. Partnerships, dialogue, and real-world testing are equally vital. That spirit was on full display during the GALP Innovation Day in Lisboa, an event that brought together some of the most forward-thinking players in energy, technology, and sustainability. Hosted by GALP at its headquarters, the gathering served as a collaborative platform to explore the future of energy through innovation, cross-sector cooperation, and new technologies.

Bringing back contact technology to center stage

LONGi was proud to be the only exhibitor showcasing back contact (BC) solar module technology, once again highlighting its leadership in high-efficiency PV solutions. Represented by François Cui, President of LONGi Europe for Utility, and supported by the Spanish commercial team, the delegation presented the company’s latest Hi-MO 9 modules, designed with LONGi’s HPBC 2.0 cell architecture and known for their high energy yield, reliability, and sleek appearance.

Live demonstrations during the event gave visitors an up-close look at the performance advantages of BC technology, especially in terms of temperature coefficient, power density, and resilience under partial shading - features that align well with the demands of real-world installations across Europe.

LONGi and GALP launch pilot to test Hi-MO 9 performance under real-world conditions

LONGi’s participation also marked a step toward deeper collaboration with GALP. The two companies are preparing a pilot project at the Pitarco Plant, where Hi-MO 9 modules will be deployed for a year-long performance evaluation. The system will be monitored using LONGi’s GSE smart O&M analytics platform, enabling detailed analysis of energy yield and system behavior under real-world conditions. The pilot aims to align high-efficiency module technology with GALP’s broader renewable energy strategy.
