On 21 May 2026, LONGi will host its first dedicated storage launch event for the German market in Frankfurt am Main. The event marks the company’s official entry into the commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage sector in Germany and reflects a broader strategic expansion beyond photovoltaic generation toward integrated energy systems.
The launch comes at a time when the role of storage in Europe is changing rapidly. Increasing renewable penetration, growing grid volatility, and changing electricity market dynamics are placing new demands on energy infrastructure and system operation. Across the commercial and industrial segment, storage is increasingly moving from an optional add-on toward a central system component for flexibility, operational stability, and economic optimization.
The event program will focus not only on storage technologies themselves, but also on the structural developments driving their adoption, including:
- Increasing volatility in electricity markets
- The changing interaction between solar generation, storage, and grid infrastructure
- System integration and operational control
- Safety and reliability requirements in real operating environments
- The evolving role of storage in commercial and industrial applications
The agenda will bring together perspectives from research, market analysis, and industry practice.
Among the keynote speakers is Prof. Dr. Volker Quaschning from HTW Berlin, one of Germany’s most recognized voices in renewable energy systems and the Energiewende. His keynote will address the changing role of storage within the German energy system and the broader structural developments shaping future energy infrastructure.

In addition, Markus Höhner, CEO of EUPD Research, will provide insights into current developments in the European storage market, including trends in commercial and industrial storage adoption, market expectations, and changing business environments across Europe.

LONGi itself will use the event to explain the strategic reasoning behind its entry into the storage market and present its broader system approach combining photovoltaic generation, storage, control systems, and operational management.
A central theme of the event will be the increasing importance of integrated architectures in energy storage systems. LONGi will discuss how coordinated interaction between components such as EMS, BMS, PCS, thermal management, and safety systems is becoming increasingly relevant as energy systems grow more dynamic and complex.
The company will also provide insights into predictive safety concepts, including cell-level monitoring approaches designed to identify abnormalities and system risks at an early stage.
Alongside the presentations, the event is intended as a platform for exchange between EPCs, installers, distributors, project developers, industry experts, and media representatives active in the German C&I market.
The event will take place in Frankfurt from 13:00 to approximately 19:00 and conclude with a networking reception.
Participation is by invitation only and places are limited. Companies or media representatives interested in attending may contact nadinebuetow@longi.com to inquire about remaining availability.
