nadinebuetow@longi.comLONGi Solar, a global leader in solar technology, has entered a strategic partnership with Turkish construction company Özgün İnşaat (a flagship company of KRK Holding) to supply high-efficiency Hi-MO 7 modules for the 300MWac/362MWdc Hassi Delaa Laghouat PV Project in Algeria. Awarded under Algeria’s national 3GW solar tender program administered by state-owned utility Sonelgaz, this project represents a critical milestone in the country’s renewable energy transition.
Özgün İnşaat – leveraging over 20 years of infrastructure experience in Algeria and a portfolio spanning tunneling, transportation, and renewable energy across North Africa and Europe – selected LONGi as its technology partner based on proven module performance and bankability. The project will deploy LONGi’s LR8-66HGD modules from the Hi-MO 7 series, each rated at 625W, optimized for high-yield performance in Algeria’s climate. These bifacial modules feature 23.1% efficiency and industry-leading temperature coefficients (-0.280%/°C), ensuring reliability in demanding environments.
Özge Baki, General Manager of KRK Holding Energy Companies, emphasized the collaboration’s significance: "The experience we have gained in solar energy projects both as an investor and as an EPC contractor, combined with our over 20 years of successful operations in Algeria, has enabled us to win the Hassi Delaa Laghouat PV Project under the Sonelgaz tender. We are very pleased to sign a PV module supply agreement with LONGi Solar, a global leader in the industry known for its proven product quality and performance. We would like to thank LONGi Solar for their support in the success of this project, and we look forward to jointly delivering many more projects that will enhance the solar energy capacity of the region."
Leon Zhang, President of LONGi Europe, added: "This project exemplifies how global technology partnerships accelerate energy transitions. Our Hi-MO 7 modules offer superior bifacial energy gains and degradation rates – critical for maximizing ROI in large-scale installations. Together with Özgün İnşaat,we’re setting a new standard for Algeria’s solar future."
The Hassi Delaa Laghouat PV Project is strategically positioned to support Algeria’s renewable energy goal. Upon completion, the 362MWdc installation is expected to generate approximately 700 GWh of clean electricity annually, offsetting roughly 450,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. The partnership establishes a blueprint for future collaborations between LONGi and Özgün İnşaat in North Africa, underscoring a shared commitment to sustainable development and energy security.
