LONGi, a world-leading solar technology company, was named a Tier 1 photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer by BloombergNEF in Q2 2025 based on its technological achievements, the reliability of its recently launched back contact series EcoLife, as well as the company’s strong bankability and stable business performance.
The PV module manufacturer rating by BloombergNEF is one of the most recognized and authoritative benchmarks in the industry. It evaluates PV manufacturers across multiple criteria, including product quality, eligibility for government tenders, and bankability. The quarterly tier system is widely considered a key reference in the solar module sector.
Because of its rigorous selection criteria, the BNEF Tier 1 list is widely regarded as a fair, objective, and highly credible benchmark for attracting investment in PV projects around the world.
Strong outlook driven by EcoLife Series launch and Hi-MO 9 upgrade in utility segment
In 2025, LONGi continues its commitment to delivering high-efficiency PV products and reliable green energy solutions with strong long-term value. Building on its R&D leadership, the company achieved two new world records this year: 27.81% efficiency for its HIBC (Heterojunction Interdigitated Back Contact) solar cell, and 34.85% for its silicon-perovskite tandem cell, further pushing the boundaries of single- and multi-junction solar technologies.
LONGi also launched the EcoLife series, designed for residential and C&I applications, featuring the Hi-MO S10 (based on HIBC technology) and Hi-MO X10 (based on HPBC 2.0). Both modules combine high power output with sleek aesthetics and advanced shading resilience.
In parallel, the Hi-MO 9 was upgraded for the utility-scale segment, offering over 670 W of power, more than 80% bifaciality, and a 30-year power warranty.

LONGi invested CNY 5.014 billion in R&D in 2024 which is 6% of total revenue. The company now holds more than 3,300 patents, including 400+ in BC tech. Shipments of BC modules surpassed 17GW last year, with HPBC 2.0 products now rolling out across global markets including Europe, MEA, and Latin America. BC capacity is set to reach 50GW by the end of 2025. Competitors including Trina, GCL, and JA have joined the BC wave, confirming its growing industry footprint.
