FORTUNE China has officially released its latest ESG Impact List, with LONGi once again earning a spot for its exemplary performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. This marks the third time LONGi has been recognized since the list’s inception, underscoring its continued global leadership in sustainable development within the photovoltaic sector.

Selection for the FORTUNE China ESG list highlights LONGi’s progress across multiple sustainability milestones

In 2024, LONGi advanced its ESG commitments, achieving several sustainability milestones ahead of schedule and by doing so, demonstrated steady progress toward its vision of making solar energy “affordable for all.” The company’s MSCI ESG rating was upgraded to BBB, earning the highest key issue scores among A+H share-listed semiconductor companies and leading the photovoltaic sector. LONGi also became the first in its industry to receive the “Industry Top Movers” distinction in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), and was included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) 2025. Further A- Leadership rating, and a top-tier FTSE Russell ESG score of 3.8, reinforce LONGi’s position as a benchmark for ESG governance in the renewable energy sector.

Annual green electricity usage rose to 47.5% in 2024

As a clean energy innovator, LONGi places environmental responsibility at the heart of its mission. In 2024, the company made notable strides in decarbonization and resource efficiency, increasing its annual green electricity usage to 47.5%, equivalent to avoiding approximately 2.55 million metric tons of carbon emissions. Its Jiaxing facility became the photovoltaic industry’s first to achieve both “Lighthouse” and “Zero-Carbon” factory status. In green supply chain development, LONGi became the industry’s first to receive ISO 20400 sustainable procurement certification. It conducted ESG due diligence for 123 new and 136 existing suppliers, carried out on-site audits of 48 critical suppliers, and supported 23 suppliers in obtaining sustainability certifications or enhancing disclosures.

To promote energy equity, LONGi partnered with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in 2023 to initiate a three-year global collaboration (2024–2026) aimed at advancing green transformation in humanitarian supply chains. As the first milestone of this partnership, LONGi completed a 700-kilowatt solar photovoltaic power station in November 2024 at the Termez Humanitarian Logistics Center in Uzbekistan. The system is expected to generate approximately 989,933 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and reduce carbon emissions by 495 metric tons per year. This project sets a precedent for sustainable energy use in emergency logistics and storage, offering a replicable model for decarbonizing global humanitarian operations.

As a responsible company, LONGi is driven by its mission to 'making the best of solar energy to build a green world', striving to be a pioneer, practitioner, and leader in sustainable development within the clean energy sector. Looking ahead, LONGi will continue to advance its ESG practices, leveraging technological innovation and global expansion to accelerate the energy transition and contribute to building a zero-carbon future for our planet.
