LONGi Hi-MO X10 Modules Earn Coveted pv magazine Award 2025 in "Modules" Category
LONGi Solar has clinched the prestigious pv magazine Award 2025 in the "Modules" category with its groundbreaking Hi-MO X10 back-contact module. This annual award is a globally recognized distinction within the photovoltaic industry, decided by an independent panel of experts. The jury lauded the Hi-MO X10 for its technological innovation, particularly its advanced bifacial performance, and for pushing the boundaries of back-contact technology while delivering high efficiency in real-world conditions.
Jury Commends Optimization Boosting Rear-Side Performance to 75%
Bifacial performance has traditionally posed a challenge for back-contact cell designs due to the placement of electrical contacts on the rear of the cell. The pv magazine Awards jury highlighted how the Hi-MO X10 effectively addresses this limitation through a series of targeted design optimizations. According to the jury, these measures have successfully increased the module's rear-side performance ratio to 75%, enabling substantial energy generation from both sides despite the back-contact architecture. The jury also praised the module for fully leveraging additional technological benefits, including robust shading resistance and exceptional performance under low-light conditions.
HPBC 2.0 Technology Sets New Efficiency Standards Beyond TOPCon
The award also underscores the technological advancements underpinning LONGi's HPBC 2.0 platform, which powers the Hi-MO X10. Built upon second-generation Hybrid Passivated Back Contact cells and TaiRay wafers, the module achieves a peak mass production efficiency of 24.8%, surpassing the typical performance levels of conventional TOPCon modules. The zero-busbar design not only enhances aesthetic appeal but also improves light absorption by eliminating grid lines from the front surface. These technological breakthroughs ensure that the Hi-MO X10 produces more energy per square meter, establishing it as a superior choice for a wide array of application scenarios, including commercial and industrial installations.
For residential applications, the 54-cell version of the Hi-MO X10 is integrated into LONGi's EcoLife Series, meticulously developed to meet the performance, reliability, and design demands of modern homeowners.
Real-World Performance Advantages Through Enhanced Shading Behavior and Thermal Response
Beyond the jury-highlighted bifacial performance, the Hi-MO X10 demonstrates tangible benefits under real operating conditions. Its "soft breakdown" behavior significantly reduces the risk of hotspots in the presence of partial shading, a factor that can critically impact the long-term reliability of an installation. Under shading conditions, the design can decrease power loss by over 70% compared to traditional TOPCon products.
The module also benefits from an improved temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C, supporting stable energy yield in high-temperature environments. Together, these features emphasize the importance of back-contact technology not only at the cell level but also in the practical system operation across diverse climatic and installation scenarios.
