LONGi and EUPD Group have signed a strategic cooperation agreement at SNEC 2026 to jointly advance solar repowering, workforce development, and renewable energy demonstration projects in Germany.
The partnership brings together LONGi's expertise in solar and energy storage technologies with EUPD's market network, certification programs, and training platforms. Together, the two organizations aim to modernize existing solar assets and create practical reference projects for the European market.
EUPD Group, headquartered in Germany, is a market research, certification, and consulting organization serving the renewable energy sector. Through its network of installers, EPC companies, project developers, investors, distributors, policymakers, and energy professionals, EUPD supports knowledge transfer and market development across Europe.
A new model for financing solar repowering in Germany
One of the first planned initiatives focuses on a photovoltaic repowering project in Germany that is intended to serve as one of the country's early demonstration cases combining solar asset modernization with ESG-oriented investment approaches.
The project will deploy LONGi Hi-MO X10 high-efficiency double-glass all-black modules to replace aging equipment and improve system performance without requiring additional land use. Beyond the technical upgrade, the initiative aims to explore how long-term capital can support the modernization of existing solar assets and contribute to energy transition objectives.
The initiative combines photovoltaic repowering with investment structures linked to Germany's occupational pension system (PDUK) and the country's IAB tax incentive mechanism. The project is intended to demonstrate how financial and sustainability objectives can be aligned through the modernization of existing renewable energy assets.
Upon completion, the site will serve as a reference project and provide operational data that can support future discussions around repowering strategies, asset optimization, and innovative financing models for the energy transition.
Hoehnerhaus training center combines installer education with real-world system validation
A second project will be implemented at Hoehnerhaus, EUPD Group's renewable energy training center in Germany. Existing modules will be replaced with LONGi Hi-MO S10 modules using HIBC technology, creating a reference installation that supports performance monitoring and technical validation under real operating conditions.
The facility already serves installers, EPC professionals, and renewable energy specialists through its education programs. Following completion, the upgraded system will function both as a source of renewable electricity for the training center and as a demonstration site that provides operational data for industry outreach and technical evaluation activities.
Partnership planned to be extended beyond firstprojects
The agreement establishes a framework for broader cooperation in areas including market education, technical training, certification activities, and renewable energy deployment.
Through the partnership, LONGi and EUPD aim to create practical reference projects that support the evolution of the European solar market. Future cooperation may include activities related to repowering, market education, technical training, and the broader adoption of renewable energy technologies.
The first projects are expected to provide valuable operational insights and serve as reference cases for the continued development of the European solar market.
