Our friendly team would love to hear from you.

LONGi, a global leader in solar technology, introduced a premium back contact module based on heterojunction (HBC) at Intersolar, Munich. This is the first time that heterojunction back contact technology has been successfully implemented in a commercialized module. The Hi-MO S10 (EcoLife Pro) delivers a world-leading cell efficiency of 27.3% and a module efficiency of up to 25%, setting a new benchmark for performance in the photovoltaic industry. The 54-cell bifacial premium module is designed for use in the residential sector and has a maximum power output of up to 510W leading to a power per square meter ratio of 250W/m². LONGi offers a 30-year warranty on both power and materials.

As “EcoLife Pro”, the Hi-MO S10 is part of LONGi's newly established EcoLife Series, a premium brand developed specifically for the residential sector. EcoLife modules are designed to meet the advanced expectations of homeowners, combining high performance with enhanced safety, long-term reliability, and a streamlined aesthetic suited to compact rooftop environments. With EcoLife, LONGi aims to build closer connections with end customers and enable a more agile, locally responsive approach to product development, service delivery, and brand engagement in key residential markets.

The official unveiling took place on May 7 in the presence of media representatives and valued customers at LONGi’s Intersolar booth.

EcoLife Pro is the world’s first commercialized PV module with heterojunction technology on a back contact platform

The Hi-MO S10 incorporates the world’s only mass-produced HJT + BC cell technology – dubbed HBC – which combines the high-efficiency passivation of heterojunction (HJT) with the multi-surface light absorption of back-contact (BC) designs. This results in full-surface passivation from all angles, reducing metal recombination loss to zero and enabling open-circuit voltage (Voc) exceeding 750mV. The HBC cell's efficiency leads the global market, with up to 27.3% efficiency.

Compared to mainstream modules, the Hi-MO S10 offers 40W higher output and can increase rooftop installation capacity by up to 9%, reinforcing LONGi's position at the forefront of solar innovation.

The Hi-MO S10 (EcoLife Pro), built on the HBC platform, ensures superior energy generation and reliability as the first of its kind in mass production. It features an ultra-low temperature coefficient of -0.24%/°C, limiting performance losses in high heat. Degradation is just 1% in the first year, followed by a best-in-class 0.35% annual rate. Engineered for resilience, it withstands snow loads up to 4 meters (6000 Pa) and hurricane-level winds (3600 Pa) and holds a Class A fire rating for top-tier safety.

High-performance TaiRay wafer ensure enhanced safety features in EcoLife Pro

LONGi’s proprietary TaiRay wafer enhances the module’s mechanical strength, increasing rupture resistance by 16% and reducing surface collapse under stress. The full back contact one-line welding structure reduces cell edge stress, improving the module’s anti-cracking performance. Furthermore, the wafer is 10 μm thicker than mainstream options, providing enhanced reliability and longevity. The module also features bipolar passivation technology on its rear-side lowering hotspot temperature by 38.75% compared to conventional TOPCon cells significantly reducing the likelihood of thermal events that could lead to fires.

Backed by a 30-year power and product warranty, the Hi-MO S10 is committed to long-term, save performance in the residential solar.

EcoLife Pro available in bifacial full black and transparent

  • LR7-54HJBB – A 54-cell full black bifacial module with a maximum efficiency of 24.7% and 505W Pmax, designed for superior aesthetics and performance.
  • LR7-54HJD – A 54-cell transparent bifacial module with 25.0% maximum efficiency and 510W Pmax, offering high energy yield and advanced safety features.

Due to the nature of back contact technology, both modules are engineered for optimal performance in low-light conditions, ensuring maximum energy autonomy for homes, even in shaded areas or with limited roof space.

The EcoLife Pro Series will be available in August throughout Europe.

LONGi establishes “LONGi EcoLife Series” to target the homeowner market

LONGi has incorporated the 54-cell configurations of its Hi-MO S10 (EcoLife Pro) and Hi-MO X10 (EcoLife) modules into the newly launched EcoLife Series. Both products are high-efficiency back contact modules, each built on distinct technology platforms, designed to meet the rising demand from residential users for solutions that blend sleek aesthetics with dependable performance.

The Hi-MO X10 is based on LONGi's HPBC 2.0 back contact technology and delivers up to 490W of power at 24.0% efficiency in 54-cell module versions. It has been gradually introduced to the European market since November 2024.

While both module types deliver industry-leading power density per square meter - ideal for space-constrained residential rooftops - they differ in power output, available service features, and safety specifications, offering flexibility for homeowners to select the solution that best matches their performance expectations and lifestyle requirements.

LONGi launched EcoLife to strengthen direct engagement with end customers, enabling faster feedback, deeper insight into consumer needs, and alignment with evolving expectations in solar technology. At the same time, EcoLife brings high-end solar innovations from a global technology leader directly to end users.
