Intersolar Europe 2025 marked a defining moment for LONGi Solar. Across product unveilings, industry recognition, and strategic announcements, LONGi demonstrated not only technological leadership, but also a clear focus on bringing high-performance solar to real-world applications. From record-breaking module efficiency to a new consumer brand, the company’s activities at the event reflected the direction of the global PV industry — and helped to shape it.
Hi-MO X10 wins Smarter E Award for innovation and real-world impact
This year’s Intersolar could not start better for LONGi. On the evening before the start, LONGi’s Hi-MO X10 module was honored with the 2025 Smarter E Award in the photovoltaics category. The award jury cited the module’s high efficiency, versatility in installation, and strong design as key reasons for its selection.
What sets Hi-MO X10 apart is the integration of HPBC 2.0 technology, the next generation of Hybrid Passivated Back Contact technology developed by LONGi, resulting in enhanced energy output and system performance, even in complex environments. The module is optimized for space-constrained rooftops and urban installations, delivering a practical solution for residential and commercial customers looking for maximum yield per square meter.

Breakthroughs in back contact technology: The launch of Hi-MO S10 and the EcoLife Series
One of the most anticipated launches at Intersolar was the introduction of the Hi-MO S10, LONGi’s first heterojunction back contact (HBC) module. Built on a technology platform that combines the passivation benefits of heterojunction with the clean aesthetics and performance advantages of back contact cell design, the module reaches 25% efficiency — among the highest ever commercialized.
This advancement matters for homeowners and businesses alike. The fully rear-located busbars mean a sleek, all-black front surface, reduced recombination loss, and higher lifetime energy yield. The HBC structure also enables superior low-light performance and higher bifaciality potential, which increases overall energy gain throughout the day.

LONGi EcoLife Series: Bringing premium solar technology to everyday rooftops
The Hi-MO S10 is part of the EcoLife product family which LONGi launched during Intersolar. EcoLife is LONGi’s premium solar brand for homeowners, offering advanced back contact technology tailored to real-world residential needs. The brand’s focus is on long-term value, durability, and easy access to advanced solar technology.
EcoLife includes both Hi-MO X10 and Hi-MO S10 modules, allowing users to choose the right solution for their needs — whether prioritizing aesthetics, high power output, or enhanced safety. Backed by up to 30 years of product warranty, EcoLife reflects the company’s ambition to serve the residential market with products that combine engineering quality with real-life benefits.

Record-breaking results: Over 2.5 GW in module sales for Distributed Generation
LONGi’s new offerings were met with strong demand during the trade fair. By the close of Intersolar, the company had signed 2 GW worth of Hi-MO X10 orders and 500 MW of Hi-MO S10 for the DG segment, underlining the relevance of back contact technology in the distributed generation market.
These results demonstrate growing confidence in LONGi’s technology roadmap, especially as customers shift toward higher-performance modules for residential and C&I projects. In a competitive and price-sensitive market, strong differentiation through efficiency and reliability is becoming a key purchasing factor.

Industry consensus: Back Contact emerges as next mainstream technology
Beyond product launches, LONGi also co-published the industry’s first authoritative White Paper on Back Contact Technology in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland, China Electricity Council, and other institutions. Presented during Intersolar, the paper concluded that back contact will likely become the dominant cell architecture by 2030, due to its scalability, platform compatibility, and potential for tandem integration.
The report was clear in its findings: while TOPCon and PERC may remain part of the transition landscape, back contact is better positioned for long-term advances in efficiency and energy yield, especially in combination with next-generation materials like perovskite.

Upgrade to Hi-MO 9: Redefining utility-scale performance
With the launch of the upgraded Hi-MO 9, LONGi made clear that back contact technology is not limited to residential rooftops. The high-efficiency utility module integrates improved cell architecture and process technologies to meet the rising demand for lower LCOE (levelized cost of electricity) in global solar projects LONGi's. It achieves a record-breaking 24.8% efficiency and up to 670W output. Built on HPBC 2.0 cell technology and TaiRay silicon wafers, it delivers superior performance in low light and uneven irradiation conditions. The Hi-MO 9 offers bifaciality exceeding 80% and includes a 30-year power warranty, ensuring long-term reliability and consistently high energy yields.
